Internships

undefined

DC Engineering’s internship program creates a ‘win-win’ for both the intern and for the firm. The program is designed to provide the intern with the ability to learn/perform meaningful work that contributes to the team’s success, while gaining valuable work experience and insight into working in the engineering field. The program is designed for applying academic skills within a consulting engineering firm, providing opportunities for future staffing needs, and to expose students this exciting profession.

Benefits of a DC Internship

  • Experiencing/Developing Communication Skills. Participate in Team and client meetings to see business/project communication and engineering problem solving in action.
  • Learning opportunities. Interns can enhance their experience in many ways: visiting job sites, understanding/working in DC’s internal systems, working in production system and tools (AutoCAD, Revit, etc.) conducting research for their team, applying resource materials used by the team, engaging with other DC teams.
  • Ongoing, regular training and checkpoints. You will work closely with your Team Lead and other team members to regularly review your work, receive new tasks, answer questions, learn and apply new skills.
Trace Freeman

"The internship was a lot more than I expected. I learned a ton through the day-to-day training and interactions with my team. I worked on actual projects, and I now understand what problem-solving and good communication looks like for an engineer."
