Maximizing the Value of Energy Related Design Initiatives

DC Engineering’s Energy Services Group (ESG) provides resources to our clients to help them achieve their energy efficiency and/or carbon reduction goals. ESG team members coordinate closely with DC’s Mechanical, Electrical, Refrigeration, Controls, and Commissioning teams to deliver the most optimal solutions given project constraints. ESG personnel have extensive experience in energy efficiency related projects, including new construction, remodels, and retro commissioning.

ESG’s Primary Services

Energy Modeling

We can evaluate baseline building energy consumption and develop multiple scenarios throughout all stages of the design process in conjunction with our the mechanical, refrigeration, and electrical teams to find a solution that balances project goals and financial constraints.

Energy Benchmarking

We can evaluate a facilities’ utility bills and building systems to establish a current benchmark and compare to similar facilities within a portfolio and across comparable building types.

Energy Audits / Development of Energy Efficiency Measures

The ESG closely collaborates with DC’s Commissioning Team to design and perform site audits to determine potential energy efficiency measures, with extensive experience in commercial refrigeration. ESG can provide a detailed report of opportunities with EEM analysis of energy savings relative to cost to meet ROI requirements.

Measurement and Verification (M&V)

Develop M&V plans and implementation for energy efficiency related projects. Services include:

  • Creating M&V plans specific to client needs
  • Installation support / commissioning of M&V equipment
  • Data Analysis / System Troubleshooting
  • Evaluating Energy Savings

Utility Incentive Processing

The ESG works directly with utilities across the United States to evaluate offerings and determine the most advantageous program. We will coordinate all activities required by the utility program to maximize the incentive on behalf of our clients.

De-Carbonization Reduction Incentives

As the landscape of decarbonization incentives evolves, the ESG continues to adapt by staying up to date on other types of incentive offerings (electrification, refrigerant reduction, renewable, demand reduction, etc.) by utilities, states, and other jurisdictions to help our clients achieve their sustainability goals.

“They have provided professional engineering services, have met our timelines, provided useful Energy Audits, and continued their support of our facilities department. It is without hesitation that I recommend their engineering services.”
