COMMERCIAL SOLUTION HIGHLIGHTS
Healthcare Facilities
Successfully designing a healthcare facility requires an understanding of many factors that are unique to the industry. Regulatory factors and code compliance need to be thoroughly assessed and incorporated into the initial design. Systems must be properly designed considering the specific medical equipment specifications. Emergency and back-up systems must be reliable. The complexity of these projects demands a level of experience, expertise, and collaboration with other project partners in order to bring all variables together in a cohesive design, and in a cost-effective manner.
DC Engineering has extensive healthcare facilities engineering expertise, and we have provided engineering consulting and design services for healthcare clients, since the inception of the company. We understand the complexities involved, and the collaboration necessary to bring a healthcare facility from the planning and design phases through facility commissioning and ongoing operations.
Highlighted Clients & Projects:
St Luke’s Nampa Hospital Campus
St. Luke’s Nampa is a 200,000+ SF full-service hospital that opened after 3 years of DC’s involvement in the planning, design and construction of the facility. The design features an Essential Emergency System (EES) which is comprised of three parallel 800kW generators providing redundancy without the need for external paralleling switchgear, saving the hospital on upfront costs, valuable real estate, and ongoing maintenance costs. DC also designed the other critical electrical systems for the hospital, including a full LED lighting system, communications (data cabling and raceways), fire alarm, and security systems.
Additonal projects have included the buildout of a medical office buildings on the same campus. DC’s design efforts include shell and core electrical design on the building, and projects for various St. Luke’s affiliated specialty clinics.
Primary Health Medical Group
Primary Health is a large and growing urgent-care and family practice organization serving the Treasure Valley in Idaho. DC has provided the electrical, telecommunications, and mechanical/plumbing design on these facility build-outs. DC has streamlined the overall process by creating a prototype facility for future locations. DC provided detailed analysis, plans and recommendations for a design that met and exceeded new energy efficiency requirements. Prototype design includes all–LED lighting with auto occupancy and natural lighting sensor driven controls, and a high efficiency Variable Volume & Temperature (VVT) HVAC system.
Intermountain Medical Imaging Centers
Intermountain Medical Imaging is a state-of-the-art MRI imaging company serving the Boise Valley Idaho. DC Engineering provided engineering design on a remodel project for their downtown Boise location, and the full design on their location in their Meridian, ID. Design work included specialty lighting for the MRI suites and exam areas, and generator power to back up critical systems as well as general power distribution, facilities lighting, fire alarm, nurse call, and telecommunications systems, connections for a mobile MRI unit, and site infrastructure.
