INDUSTRIAL SOLUTION HIGHLIGHTS
City of Meridian
The City of Meridian, ID has been one of fastest growing communities in the country over the past few years. Along with that growth comes the responsibility to ensure that the city’s infrastructure can handle those incoming families and businesses.
DC Engineering first started with the City in 2004, working alongside other firms providing services for their water and wastewater facilities. Over the years, we have strengthened those relationships as we’ve collaborated on many different facilities and systems related projects. Recently, our planning efforts resulted in the City taking ownership of the primary power system infrastructure for its water/wastewater systems.
Highlighted Projects:
Ownership of primary power system:
Multi-year strategic planning effort by DC personnel culminated in the City purchasing its primary power system infrastructure from the Public Utility. This highly innovative initiative will enable the City to better control its power delivery and O&M facility costs, resulting in millions in savings over the life of the system.
Capacity Study & Standby Generator Expansion:
DC conducted an extensive on-site power capacity study in 2007. As a result of the study, DC planned and designed 3.2MW of generator capacity to back up its existing utility infrastructure.
Capacity Expansion (ongoing):
Electrical planning and design for both the City’s Liquid Stream Capacity Expansion and the Headworks Capacity Expansion facilities to meet EPA permit requirements. Projects include several new process facilities and associated buildings. DC is also assisting with ongoing project execution.
SCADA Application Development:
DC Controls personnel developed and installed a new Wonderware HMI, historian and alarming applications, and modified existing PLC programs for intelligent control.
Control Panels:
DC has designed, built, programmed, and commissioned many UL508A control panels tailored to client requirements.
